Let's be honest. I am not a great listener. But through the years, I have really begun to actively listen. In fact I made 2016 the year of listening. It might be time for another year. Check out Jason's Podcast on Listening. One of the key concepts he shares is that openness is required for great listening. What is openness?

This episode has great meaning to me, as it is in response to an message I sent Jason. How can your transform an organization from the Bottom. He boiled it down into 7 steps
  • Play Like Joe DiMaggio
  • Don't ever come from a position of weakness - Bring a Solution to the Table
  • Develop relationships with like-minded high preforming people
  • Be ready to explain your purpose and guiding principles - Draw a picture of how you excel
  • Have a good elevator pitch for purpose, principles, and growth 
  • Save your money so you are not in bondage 
  • Don't rush to judgement about the boss

For me, I was able to boil your seven tips down into four that I will continue to apply everyday:
  • Know and Share your purpose (4, 5)
  • Play to Win - Always give your best (1)
  • Come from a position of abundance (2, 6) Both work and financially
  • Build your team and don't give up on the wounded (3, 7)

Mission, Vision, and Values are not enough. You need a set of Guiding Principles to set you on the right direction and help you with decision making.
  • Everyone must know the guiding principles
  • Must be lived by - No Exceptions
  • Must become the basis for hiring people
Guiding Principles become the basis for decision making. Once everyone is on the same set of Guiding Principles, the company has Speed and decision making is easy.
