Tech Tip Tuesday - OneNote - Remember your History

As many of you know, OneNote is critrical to my paperless success. ​While I don't use the tools everyday, they have saved me in the past. Below is a brief summary of each part of the History Tabs Tools. Pay attention to the Page Versions and Notebook Recycling Bin.

History Tab

Unread Section

Picture
  • Next Unread - Jumps to the next unread page. Helpful if you want to review someone else's changes
  • Mark as Read - Denotes that you have looked that page
    • Mark Notebook as Read - Denotes that you have looked at the entire page
    • Show Unread Changes in This Notebook - Check to keep tracking change updates to the notebook

​Authors Section

Picture
  • Recent Edits - Highlights pages that have been updated recently. Choose a time-frame such in the last 7 days, last 30 days, etc
  • Find by Author - Finds pages by who wrote on them
  • Hide Authors - Turns off author highlighting in shared notebooks

History Section

Picture
  • Page Versions - Brings up previous version of the page as subpages. Right-click on the page to restore as the current version. If you open the previous version, you will notice a yellow bar at the top. Click the bar to see more options such as restore, delete, copy, delete all, and disable version history.
  • Notebook Recycling Bin - Shows all deleted sections and pages. Right-click to restore or move the page back to particular section. Note: items are permanently deleted after 60 days.
