If you have ever manually created a hyperlink inside of Bluebeam, you know it can take forever. Thankfully, Bluebeam created batch link (video, pdf) to make things a little easier. But sometimes you want to link to a spec or another document that is not a plan that can easily be referenced with the title block and page label. Sure you can use the hyperlink tool under Markup --> Hyperlink, but then you have to click open, the ellipsis (3-dots) and locate the file. That is a lot of clicks. Below are instructions for how to create a link even faster if the file has been recently opened.
Keep linking, Ralph

If you like me, you sometimes use the evening (while watching Thursday Night Football) to catch up on a few emails that you did not get to during the day. However, I feel a little guilty sending yet another notification late at night. So I schedule my late night emails for first thing in morning using Outlook's delay delivery option. My thought is, we get enough notifications on our phones, why send another when I am don't need a response until tomorrow. In general, when we send emails, we should not anticipated an instant response. Skype, texting, and the phone are great for messages that need a more immediate response. See below for details on how to delay your next late night email.
Keep communicating, Ralph I know most of us spend a good amount of time keeping our Outlook inbox nice and organized and never let our inboxes build up. Right? Well for those that do at least attempt to keep everything nice and organized, I have found the using the quicksteps at the top of Outlook's home tab have really increased the speed at which I can organize my inbox. The good news is that Outlook has a "Quick Steps" bar that allows you to perform your frequent actions by clicking your customized command. I often use quick steps to move items to a particular project folder or categorize an item so that I can more easily search and find it. Quick steps help me towards my goal of keeping my inbox just for those items that still require my attention. You can find the instructions below about how to move an email to a certain project folder. Don’t be afraid to explore all the options. As always, please reach out if you have any questions.
Keep "Quick" Stepping Up, Ralph Have you ever been about to hit send, only to have an email pop up in your inbox asking if you saw the previous email. "Why yes I am trying to reply to you right now and now I need move my response to the new email." Did you know there is a simple way to remind someone of an email without the "reminder email"? You can add a follow up reminder to the initial email with a date and time attached. Balancing priorities is one of the most challenging things we do and adding reminders to emails can help establish the expectations of the sender to recipient. If the recipient is unable to meet the expectations, the recipient can easily let the sender know. This way the sender does not need to keep sending the "did you get my email emails". Below are instructions on how to add a reminder to your email.
Keep Reminding, Ralph How many of you have received an email chain like this?
Stay Available, Ralph Do you ever feel like when you receive an email from someone that you are seeing an advertisement for Apple, Samsung, Microsoft, Verizon, or AT&T. That’s because you are. How many times have you seen "sent from my iPhone" or "Get Outlook for Android" at the bottom of an email. While I like all these products, I don't think we need to be advertising the device, app, or carrier from which the message was sent. Below are instructions on how to update your signature in Microsoft's Outlook App that was release last year. In my opinion, the new Outlook app is one of the best email apps available.
Keep Communicating, Ralph As many of you know, OneNote is critrical to my paperless success. While I don't use the tools everyday, they have saved me in the past. Below is a brief summary of each part of the History Tabs Tools. Pay attention to the Page Versions and Notebook Recycling Bin. Remember Your History,
Ralph As part of my conversion to being digital, I had to find way to capture physical paper such as receipts. I found that OneNote is particular helpful in this effort. The OneNote app is also my primary note taking app when I am away from my computer. It allows me to sync all my notes between my mobile and computer. Please follow the instructions below to install your OneNote app, take your first picture and search the synced version.
As always feel free if you have any questions. Thanks, Ralph Have you ever wondered, “Why does everything have to come in PDF when sometimes the native format would probably work best?” Well now, with Bluebeam, we can get closer to native Microsoft Format without having to retype everything. Bluebeam can export numerous formats including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. To export to another file format within Bluebeam, simply select File --> Export --> select the format. A detailed example of exporting to excel can be found below. This works great for all sorts of tables and schedules including equipment, furnishing, finish, and so many more.

Remember using Bluebeam effectively was critical to becoming paperless. Keep beaming, Ralph Are you like me and remember when the only way to capture your screen was using the Print Screen Button? How many of you remember when pressing print screen would actually send your screen to the printer and an actual piece of paper printed out? Oh how the times have changed. Today print screen, just copies your screen to the clipboard for you to paste later. But today, even pressing print screen is a little old fashion. Below are three ways to make yourself more effective when capturing the contents of your screen.
